Short Term Action

• Develop plan to organize and disseminate information about cultural and recreational activities in the county to:
  • Motels, restaurants, retail locations
  • Chamber of Commerce
  • Realtors
  • Human Resource personnel
  • Organizers of sporting events and other events that bring in visitors
• Plan for enhancements to Art Show at Blossom Festival 2005
  • Recruit volunteers
  • Increase incentives for artist participation
  • Locate an indoor venue for art show
• (Encourage private beautification efforts as "community service" in Spring 2005)

Medium Term Action

• Develop an effective community bulletin board (and/or welcome center?)
• Compile a quarterly flyer of cultural and recreational activities in the county
• Encourage schools, Boys & Girls Club, other sports organizers to schedule district and state tournaments in Columbia County
• Encourage show organizers to schedule shows in Columbia County

Long Term Action

• Organize and oversee a scholarship fund for students in the arts to obtain lessons
• Begin research and planning to improve the Lake Columbia attraction
• Begin research into feasibility and funding streams for capital projects
